Fact of the Day - Cuticles

Did you know that your cutitles (also called the eponychium - try pronouncing that after a glass of rose') are there as a barrier to prevent bacteria entering your skin?

They also protect the new keratin cells, which make up your nails, from damage.

If you want to push your cuticles down, always do it when they are wet to prevent tearing them.

Hopefully you now know a little more about those little flaps of skin on your nails! Does any body have any interesting facts for this February 1st Friday? ;)
